RAPID CITY, SD (KELO.com) — South Dakota has its first measles case of 2025. an adult in Meade County developed a measles infection while traveling internationally. State epidemiologist Dr. Joshua Clayton says measles is a highly contagious viral disease and spreads through the air from an infected person. People may have been exposed when the man visited Rapid City Medical Center Urgent Care waiting room in Rapid City on May 28th, and the Monument Health Sturgis Urgent Care waiting room in Sturgis on May 29th.
