SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO.com) — Overcrowding and a 140-year old worn out penitentiary are the main problems that are the focus of the Project Prison Reset Task Force. A new consultant’s report shows the problem is actually about twice the size officials thought…because the prison population is also growing. But task force chairman, Lieutenant Governor Tony Venhuizen says for now the task at hand is deciding the location for a new men’s facility.
Among those other cities: Mitchell, Huron, Aberdeen and Big Stone City. The task force meets again next month.
