MADISON, SD (KELO.com) — Frustrations are running high for Lake County landowners trying to call for a public vote on a proposed ordinance on carbon capture pipelines. The Lake County Commission rejected petitions calling for the public vote, saying the petitions were invalid under state law. Landowners like Lora Zwart pushing for the ordinance say County officials have ignored their request for three years, refusing to publicly discuss the issue.
Zwart says landowners are consulting with legal counsel, trying to determine their next steps.
