VERMILLION, SD (KELO.com) — There have been protests and pockets of resistance since he took office, but President Donald Trump ranks higher than any South Dakota politician according to the South Dakota News Watch poll. Voters showed mixed support on some of the President’s key policies, such as the DOGE efforts to cut federal spending and tariffs that are cutting into farm exports. The poll, co-sponsored by the Chiesman Center for Democracy at USD, shows Republican support at 73-percent, 45-percent approval among Independents and Six percent approval from Democrats.
