WASHINGTON, DC – (KELO.com) — A South Dakota Ranching family was targeted by the Federal Government – but the target has been removed. Charles and Heather Maude were facing criminal charges, possible prison time and large fines in what amounted to a fence line dispute with the U-S Forest Service. The Trump Administration dropped the charges this week. Heather Maude expressed her gratitude on the steps of the USDA in Washington Wednesday morning.
Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins brought up the case during this morning’s Cabinet Meeting in the Oval Office. She says the USDA is investigating to see if there are other cases like it.
