SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO.COM) — Officers were justified in shooting at a suspect in an armed standoff in Sioux Falls in early April. That’s the conclusion of the Division of Criminal Investigation into efforts to arrest parole absconder Samir Albaidhani on April 1st. Attorney General Marty Jackley says it was an extremely dangerous situation.
Albaidhani allegedly stole a car from the Sioux Falls neighborhood and escaped to the Beresford area. He was confronted by State Patrol troopers there, and was involved in another shooting incident. Troopers returned fire, and wounded him before making an arrest. Albaidhani faces numbers charges, including four counts of Attempted First Degree Murder of a a Law Enforcement Officer.
