SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO.com) — Southeast Technical College in Sioux Falls is working to develop the next generation of landscaping professionals. Area high school students with an interest in horticulture can enroll now in a special summer program that offers college credit and hands-on learning, all while they earn money for their efforts. Southeast Horticulture instructor Benjamin Ringling gives high marks to the opportunity, based on results with a pilot project involving a small group of students last summer.
The students spend time in the classroom, the lab – and most importantly – working side by side with professionals. Ringling says it’s a great opportunity for high schoolers to jump-start a career. For more information or to apply, visit: https://www.southeasttech.edu/horticultureacademy
