PINE RIDGE, SD (KELO.com) — A major operation involving Federal, State, local and tribal law enforcement has netted 16 drug trafficking arrests in Rapid City and on the Pine Ridge Reservation. Operation Snowy Ridge was organized by the FBI and spearheaded by the Badlands Safe Trails Drug Task Force. It was carried out on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week. U-S Attorney Alison Ramsdell says the operation improves public safety in tribal communities by removing suspects to drive violence and facilitate drug addiction. Officials say those arrested could face additional charges.
