PIERRE, SD (KELO.com) โ Bird flu is taking a heavy toll on South Dakota poultry farms. The state ranks second in the nation for outbreaks according to a report by South Dakota News Watch. More than six-million birds have died or been destroyed due to the outbreak. State health officials say the bird flu is also likely behind the death of thousands of wild geese at Lake Byron near Huron.
