Petition drive expected to refer Constitutional Amendment bill to voters

SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO.com) — We could see a ballot referendum dealing with ballot measures on constitutional amendments.  A group called the Voter Defense Association of South Dakota is expected to launch a campaign petition to refer a bill passed by the state Legislature.  The bill would change requirements for placing proposed Constitutional Amendments on the ballot.  The Voter Defense group contends those changes would make it much more difficult to place proposed amendments on the ballot.
