BRANDON, SD (KELO.com) — The cause of death in an armed standoff in Brandon last month has been determined to be smoke inhalation and an apparent drug overdose. Attorney General Marty Jackley says that’s the outcome of the initial investigation into the death of 43-year old Abe Boushee. He fired shots at U-S Marshals officers and the Brandon Police Department a month ago, as they approached a Brandon home to serve an arrest warrant. The home he was in burst into flames during the confrontation. He was found dead in the home the next day.
