(Reuters) โ China will further deepen rural reforms and advance rural revitalisation, state media reported on Sunday, citing a pivotal rural policy document, as Beijing steps up efforts to bolster food security amid threats of U.S tariffs hitting agriculture trade, an economic slowdown and climate change.
In its annual rural policy blueprint, known as the โNo. 1 documentโ, the State Council, Chinaโs cabinet, outlined plans for improving rewards and subsidy systems for major grain-producing areas, promoting the industrialisation of biotech cultivation, among other measures, state news agency Xinhua reported.
