Legal immunity bills for off-duty law officers, church security teams turned down

PIERRE, SD (KELO.com) — South Dakota legislators rejected a pair of bills aimed at providing legal immunity to off-duty police officers and church security teams.  Law enforcement groups opposed the first measure, saying there’s already protection for off-duty officers.  Trial lawyers warned against the bill affecting church security volunteers, saying it lacked training requirements.
