PIERRE, SD (KELO.com) — Friends of South Dakota Public Broadcasting turned out in force in Pierre Friday morning. They packed a hearing room to make their case to legislators to reject budget cuts proposed by former Governor Kristi Noem. SDPB Executive Director Julie Overgaard told the appropriations committee public broadcasting is also dealing with challenges at the national level.
Supporters testified of all the services provided by Public Broadcasting, and of how important those services are in a rural state like South Dakota.
