PIERRE, SD (KELO.com) — Four years after it was made available, the COVID-19 vaccine is still sparking debate. A South Dakota House Committee spent hours of debate this morning on whether the state should require blood donors to disclose if they’ve received the vaccine. Testimony revealed there are no tests that could guarantee donated blood is free from the vaccine, a point driven home by Representative Taylor Rehfeld of Sioux Falls before the committee voted.
With a one-vote majority, the committee deferred the bill to the 41st day of the legislative session, effectively killing it.
