PIERRE, SD (KELO.com) โ A South Dakota House Committee approved a pair of bills this morning dealing with voter registration and voter integrity. The first requires county auditors and the Secretary of State to maintain voter registration files, and make them available to the public free of charge. Currently it costs 25-hundred dollars to get the records, a fee voter integrity activist Rick Wieble of Elkton calls out of line.
The other bill allows voters to keep some of their personal voter registration information private, such as phone numbers and email addresses. Both measures are headed for consideration in the full House.
