SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO.com) — Sioux Falls police are warning residents of another scam that has claimed at least one victim in the city. A caller representing himself as a member of the Sioux Falls “Sheriff’s” office said the victim needed to pay three-thousand dollars to clear a warrant for her arrest. She said she wanted to go to the Sheriff’s office to clear things up, but was told she’d be arrested immediately if she did. Police Information Officer Sam Clemens.
Clemens says the woman lost two-thousand dollars to the scammer. He says bank employees indicated there may be more victims that were taken in.
