OMAHA, NE (KELO.com) — The economy is hitting a few bumps on the road on rural Mainstreet. Creighton University reports its Rural Mainstreet Index – a survey that covers a ten-state region in the center of the nation remained negative for the month of December. South Dakota’s economy showed minor improvement in December, but remains in negative territory. The Index shows farmland prices declining, and very weak farm equipment sales. One out of every five farm operations expects to see a negative cash flow in 2025.
