PIERRE, S.D. (KELO.com) — A science teacher at Lower Brule High School in South Dakota is on a two-week professional development adventure taking her to Antarctica.
Bree Oatman is one of about 30 teachers chosen by National Geographic to participate in the Grosvenor Teacher Fellowship program.
People may think the weather in Antarctica is brutally cold, but she says it’s really not that different from winter in South Dakota.
Oatman is scheduled to return from Antarctica Dec. 24, 2024.
