RENNER, SD (KELO.com) — A Renner man is jailed on rape and sexual contact charges in at least two cases – one of them dating back 13 years. Captain Josh Phillips of the Minnehaha County Sheriff’s office says 44-year old Edgar Messenger is being held on a 50-thousand dollar cash bond.
That victim says she was abused about five years ago. Both victims are related, and both were about nine years old at the time of the incidents. Captain Phillips is asking other potential victims to contact law enforcement as the investigation is ongoing.
Captain Phillips says the suspect lived near the victims and was a friend of the family at the time.
