SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO.com) — Sioux Falls Police Chief Jon Thum is concerned about the possible legalization of recreational marijuana in South Dakota, but it isn’t his biggest drug enforcement concern. He says law enforcement is focused on controlling the distribution and use of meth and fentanyl. Appearing on the Greg Belfrage show Thursday morning, Chief Thum said overdose deaths have spiked higher this year.
The meth and fentanyl problems being experienced in South Dakota are in line with what’s happening across the country.
