PIERRE, SD (KELO.com) — The Department of Revenue says it can’t talk about alleged fraud cases in the Department of Revenue. The Legislative oversight committee says it can’t wait. It’s a standoff between the Noem Administration and the Legislative branch. End result??? The Legislature’s Government Operations and Audit committee is seeking a subpoena to force the testimony. Committee member, Senator David Wheeler.
Senator Jean Hunhoff – the co-chair of the appropriations committee agreed.
The committee voted 7-to-2 to seek the subpoena in hopes of hearing testimony from the department in executive session next month.
