Malaysia reports new mpox case of clade 2 variant

KUALA LUMPUR (Reuters) – Malaysia reported one new case of the mpox virus infection of the clade 2 variety, the health ministry said on Tuesday.

The case was detected in a male patient on Monday, who began showing symptoms of fever, sore throat, and cough on Sept. 11, the health ministry said in a statement.
