PIERRE, S.D. (KELO.com) — The South Dakota National Guard is heading to Texas again.
Governor Kristi Noem made that announcement in her weekly press release.
This will be the eighth detachment of South Dakota guardsmen sent south since 2021.
Earlier this year, House Bill 1061 allocated nearly $4.3 million to the special emergency and disaster special revenue fund to finance the deployment.
