SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO.com) — After a decade of work and planning, the Barb Iverson Skate Plaza is officially open in Sioux Falls. The 2.5-million dollar park is located at 10th and Cliff. Mayor Paul TenHaken calls it a great addition to the city.
The park is named after a popular middle school teacher who died of cancer in 2021. Erika Iverson says her late Aunt Barb supported those involved in the skating community starting long ago.
The state of the art skate park is one of the largest in the nation. Professional skaters will be featured throughout this weekend.
