OMAHA, NE (KELO.com) — Some improvement in our regional manufacturing economy, but it isn’t very convincing. Creighton University’s Mid-America Business Conditions Index for June shows slight growth. Economist Dr. Ernie Goss says 2024 has been an odd year so far.
The survey shows nearly half of the manufacturing supply managers in the nine-state region expect a downturn in the economy for the rest of this year. One disturbing part of the report shows South Dakota’s exports declined by more than 11-percent from a year ago.
