NORTH SIOUX CITY, SD (KELO.com) — Emergency workers are getting the upper hand in battling flood waters in the North Sioux City area. The Big Sioux River is now down by more than ten feet from its highest level. The Missouri River level dropped by another foot overnight. Releases from Gavins Point Dam at Yankton are being reduced, as inflows into Lewis & Clark Lake decline. Officials are also allowing residents of Dakota Dunes to return to their homes.
