SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO.com) — Officials are sounding the warning bell on flooded roads. Friday morning Sioux Falls police closed off West 12th street because Skunk Creek is over the road on the west side of the city. Sertoma Avenue and 12th were also covered with water. Many roads are underwater in southwestern Minnesota and northwest Iowa as well. The heavy rain has farmers worried about their crops. In the Sioux Falls area, rainfall totals were already nearly four inches above normal before the latest storms. Now, in some cases, you can another five or six inches to those totals – and it could get worse. The National Weather Service says we could get another two to four inches by Saturday morning.
