SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO.com) — Sioux Falls City Councilors will consider a proposed expansion of the Sioux Area Metro-or SAM-transit system tonight. The plan includes adding citywide “SAM on Demand” on weekdays, and expanding weekday and Saturday service hours. The changes are being proposed by VIA, the city’s new transit provider. Emily Shapiro, VIA’s general manager for Sioux Falls, says the changes are the result of public input gathered over the past several months.

If the council approves the plan tonight, the expansion will take effect this fall.
