SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO.com) โ Itโs a 77-million dollar package that will affect recreational opportunities in Sioux Falls for decades, but it will have to wait. City finance director Shawn Pritchett says itโs apparent city councilors arenโt comfortable with the user fees that would have to be charged to cover expenses.
City councilors like the facilities included in the plan, but the question about user fees has them uncomfortable. As a result, the 77-million dollar bond proposal is being placed on hold until later this year. Parks and Recreation Director Don Kearney says heโll work toward reaching an agreement with councilors on those issues over the next few months.
One part of the package councilors are ready to move forward with is the proposed purchase of the Sanford Health Wellness center on the Tea/Ellis Road. They heard first reading at last nightโs city council meeting to transfer 9-million dollars to make the purchase.
