SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO.com) — New management of Sioux Area Metro is working well – and the system is about to make a major expansion. In January, Sioux Falls hired “VIA”, a transit management company, to operate the system. Ridership is up. VIA Operations Director Emily Schapiro says it will go higher, as the Southeast side of Sioux Falls begins receiving bus service next week.
The expansion opens city bus service to more than 40-thousand citizens, and gives residents access to nearly 12-thousand, 500 jobs.
