S.D. House passes bill banning foreign adversaries from purchasing farmland

PIERRE, SD (KELO.com) — No South Dakota Farmland for “bad actors”.  The South Dakota House passed a bill banning a half-dozen foreign adversaries from purchasing land in the state.  House Majority Leader Will Mortenson calls the bill “good policy”, and says the current law is weak.

The measure outlaws purchases by China, Russia, Iran, North Korea, Venezuela and Cuba.  It now heads to a senate committee.
