PIERRE, SD (KELO.com) — It’s the first step in protecting Jewish people in South Dakota following antisemitic protests across the country. The State House easily passed a bill defining antisemitism in state law. For bill sponsor, Representative Fred Deutsch, it’s personal.
Deutsch shared the story of his father and grandparents being taken to concentration camps in World War Two.
The bill was approved by the House on a 53-14 vote, and now moves on to the state Senate.
