PIERRE, SD (KELO.com) — Carbon Capture pipeline opponents are celebrating. They scored a major victory today when the South Dakota Public Utilities Commission voted unanimously to reject the Navigator Pipeline permit. Commission Chair Kristi Fiegen laid out concerns in making the motion to deny the permit.
State Representative Karla Lems of Canton is among the few landowners that has both pipeline routes crossing her family’s land.
Navigator can re-apply for the permit, but so far, no word on whether the company will do that. The PUC takes up the Summit Carbon Solutions permit request in hearings that begin next week.
