SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Additional interstate closures are anticipated by the South Dakota Department of Transportation due to the storm. Currently, Interstate 29 is closed from Sioux Falls (I90) to the North Dakota border. Interstate 90 is closed from Sioux Falls to Mitchell.
The DOT says motorists should not use secondary highways to get around the interstate closures. No Travel Advisories are expected to be issued for those roads as well throughout the state as high winds create blowing and drifting snow along with poor visibility.
