SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — The Sioux Falls School District has joined the growing list of schools to cancel classes on Wednesday. A Blizzard Warning begins at 9 a.m. for the Sioux Falls area, 6 a.m. for counties north of Sioux Falls.
The Minnehaha County Sheriff’s Office reminds drivers the roadways could become impassable Wednesday into Friday. Heavy snowfall, subzero temps, and strong winds could create dangerous travel conditions. The department says becoming stranded in will be life-threatening. They add, “If you are unable to travel in the storm, so are first responders, plow drivers, and tow companies. Please plan ahead now to stay off the roadways.”
