SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — The Sioux Falls National Weather Service continues to monitor a large winter storm they expect to produce widespread and significant impacts. Wind gusts up to 55 mph by Wednesday could cause blowing snow and the possibility of blizzard conditions. People are advised to prepare for dangerous to impossible travel, disruptions to power, heavy snowfall, and near blizzard conditions. Additionally, dangerous wind chills of -20F to -30F will be a factor by Thursday into Friday. A Winter Storm Watch begins at midnight Tuesday night extending into Thursday. It is likely we will see that upgraded to a Winter Storm Warning or Blizzard Warning as the storm moves through.
