SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — A Canton, S.D., woman has been identified as the person who died in a two-vehicle crash on Dec. 31, 2022, west of Canton.
The crash report released by the Department of Public Safety indicates that a 2007 Saturn Vue was southbound on South Dakota Highway 115 before entering the intersection with U.S. Highway 18.
As it entered the intersection, it collided with a 2012 Subaru Forester that was eastbound on Highway 18.
Rebecca Earll, the 40-year-old driver of the Subaru, was pronounced dead at the scene. She was wearing a seatbelt.
William Pigg, 57, of Sioux Falls was the driver of the Saturn.
He was not wearing a seatbelt, had to be extricated from the vehicle, suffered life-threatening injuries, and was airlifted to a Sioux Falls hospital.
Charges are pending against him.
