SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Sioux Falls Fire Rescue reminds you to change the batteries in your smoke alarm once a year so you don’t have to wake up to late-night chirping. You’re also advised to check the date on your alarms and replace them at least every 10 years, as alarm sensors wear out. Sioux Falls Fire Rescue is teaming up with other city departments on October 11th and 13th for Sound the Alarm. The event is being held during fire prevention week. If you need a smoke or carbon monoxide alarm, call the 211 Helpline center.
