RAMONA, S.D. (KELO.com) — A pilot experienced mechanical failure in Lake County this morning which caused the engine of the aircraft to shut down while in the air. The Lake County Sheriff’s Office reported the Cirrus SR GTS was near Ramona when the pilot conducted his proper emergency response. The aircraft’s parachute was deployed, and the airplane was landed successfully. There were no reports of injuries to the pilot or his two passengers. The FAA is investigating.
