OMAHA, NE (KELO.com) — A 73-year-old Sioux Falls man was sentenced Thursday in Omaha for traveling to have sex with a minor. John J Stratman was sentenced to 135 in federal prison. On October 1, 2021, Stratman contacted an individual he believed had access to a 15-year-old female he could meet for sex. The contact was working as an undercover law enforcement officer. Stratman traveled to Omaha on January 2nd, 2022, with the intent to meet the 15-year-old.
After his release from prison, Stratman will begin a 7-year term of supervised release and be required to register as a sex offender.
