SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com ) — 10-digit dialing has taken effect in preparation of 988 being the number to call the National Suicide Prevention and Mental Health Crisis Lifeline. The South Dakota PUC reminds people to update mobile phone contacts as well as home security systems. They also recommend ensuring advertising information and pet ID tags include the 605 area code. Until July 16th, individuals must continue to dial 1-800-273-TALK to reach the Lifeline.
