Downed branches in Sioux Falls, 7/5/22. KELO.com News photo Sue Martens.
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Like many of you, Midwest Communication Radio’s Sue Martens was trying to get home as Tuesday’s storm blew through Sioux Falls.
Here’s Sue’s journal of her harrowing trip.
Just drove home from the radio station, and here are some observations:
* Had to watch out for falling and fallen branches in the street. On 14th Street heading to Cliff Ave had to change lanes because of a big branch in the street.
* Heading east on 14th after Cliff (is that called Riverside?) I saw a decent-sized branch rolling across the street like a tumbleweed.
* Waiting at the red light at 26th & Southeastern the wind was so strong thar my car was shaking! A bit unnerving.
* Some minor flooding / water standing on Southeastern.
* More branches in the street on Southeastern, and the traffic light is out at 41st & Southeastern.
* Some photos attached from our neighborhood. I didn’t get a good photo of branches in the street because I was trying to be safe.
* Also, our power is out (we’re in the general vicinity of 57th & Cliff).
