SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — The Sioux Falls School Board met this week.
The biggest take away is the changes being made at the Axtell Park Middle School Program.
Assistant Superintendent of Administrative Services, Jamie Nold gave an update to the School Board.
Nold said there will be more mental health services this fall, Avera Health is providing 2 mental health interns and, one school psychologist.
The school is getting a social worker not a traditional social worker but one that will help students with social skills.
Nold said the school is also adding more elective classes and they really focused on the Arts program.
150 students attend Axtell Park, and are in what the district calls a nontraditional setting.
