SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — The Annual Community Blood Bank “Flight for Life” blood drive competition kicks off Monday, May 16.
This is the competition between the Avera Careflight and Sanford AirMed to help raise up the blood supply for our local hospitals.
The blood drive is hoping to collect close to 800 donations between our mobiles and donor room locations.
Donors are encouraged to give blood at either Sanford USD Medical Center or Avera McKennan Hospital and University Health Center donor rooms throughout the week.

Monday, May 16: KELOLAND Television (501 S. Phillips Ave., Sioux Falls, SD) “Flying For Life” blood drive event 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. & 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Thursday, May 19: Sioux Falls Police Department (320 W. 4th St., Sioux Falls, SD) “Flying for Life” blood drive event 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. & 12:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Friday, May 20: JJ’s Wine, Spirits, and Cigars (3000 W. 57th St., Sioux Falls, SD) “Flying for Life” blood drive event 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. & 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Saturday, May 21: Remedy Brewing Co. (401 E. 8th St. #120, Sioux Falls, SD) “Flying for Life” blood drive event 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Volunteers can schedule their donation and impact local lives by going to www.cbblifeblood.org , click on
“News” and “Flying for Life” or call 605-331-3222 / toll free: 877-877-3070. Donors must be at least 17 years
old (16 years old with a signed parent consent form), weigh 110 lbs or more and be in good general health. It
is recommended that a person eat and drink plenty of fluids prior to donating blood. Please bring an ID with
you at the time of donation.
