PIERRE, S.D. (KELO.com) — South Dakota legislators deal with a lot of education issues every year, and that was the case again this year.
Education Department Secretary Tiffany Sanderson updated the State Board of Educational Standards at their meeting last week.
Sanderson says they also now have the authority to spend federal pandemic dollars.
Sanderson says legislators also funded a badly needed upgrade to the Cultural Heritage Center.
The board also approved an updated suicide prevention program.
