RAPID CITY, S.D. (KELO.com) — The Rapid City Fire Department had to say good bye to one of their own Friday. Cisco, the first live find K9 for South Dakota Task Force 1 and the Rapid City Fire Department, rode in Engine 7 one last time yesterday. Cisco, a Belgian Malinois, traveled to Sioux Falls in 2016 to assist with search and rescue efforts following the Copper Lounge building collapse. He served the state from 2014 until his retirement, due to deteriorating health, in 2021. Cisco’s former co-workers were on hand, as he made his way to his final veterinarian appointment, forming two lines and saluting as he walked past them.
