SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — The Sioux Falls Fraternal Order of Police issued a statement Thursday on the arrests of two former SFPD officers charged with child pornography.
The FOP represents sergeants and officers in labor negotiations.
Their statement:
The Fraternal Order of Police Labor Council Lodge #1 represents the membership of over 250 Police Officers and Sergeants of the Sioux Falls Police Department.
The Labor Council would like to address the recent arrests of Luke Schauer and Matthew Jock.
The offenses alleged to have been committed by these two individuals are an unforgivable betrayal to the oath we all took. These actions do not reflect the culture of the many dedicated sergeants and officers in our membership. The Labor Council and its members are grateful for the professional and expedient work done by investigators in these matters. We take pride in knowing that law enforcement continues to perform as it should by holding such offenders accountable, wherever they may be.
The men and women of this membership hold our oath sacred and will continue to focus on the mission of public safety.
