SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Here’s the “skinny” from Tuesday’s Sioux Falls Police briefing.
THIS IS A STICK UP, ER THIS IS A GUN I’D LIKE TO PAWN
A not very funny joke turned into an arrest for robbery Monday afternoon in Sioux Falls.
A man brought a revolver in a holster into a pawnshop in the 4000 block of West 41st Street.
The man pointed the weapon at the clerk and said he wanted money.
The man then put the gun down and said he was only joking.
He then left.
The clerk thought about it and felt there was a robbery attempt.
The clerk called the police.
The man came back and Sioux Falls Police arrested him.
He is Wesley Gerald Hanson, 31, from Ocheydan, Iowa.
MORE FAKE MONEY, BURGLARIES
Sioux Falls Police are investigating fake $20 bills that someone successfully passed at a gas station yesterday (Monday).
Police say they don’t have any suspects.
The authorities are also investigating burglaries into an apartment and vacant house.
