YANKTON, S.D. (KELO.com) — Officers of the South Dakota Municipal League met earlier this month in Pierre to talk about issues going into the 2022 legislative session.
Yankton City Manager Amy Leon is the first vice president of the group.
She says there is agreement that local governments need more help from the state in handling incoming federal dollars.
Leon says they decided to back Medicaid expansion.
She says every town and city is concerned about using the infrastructure dollars from the state and federal governments.
Leon says the league will also be involved in further discussions about marijuana legislation expected to be introduced.
